What attracts you to a beautiful painting? Often it's color, but that's only part of the story. What draws us in is the interaction of light with the subject matter. In this workshop you'll learn how to "see" this light pattern and recreate it on your canvas. You'll learn how the color of an object is affected by light, and how to mix rich clean color that matches what you see. You'll learn how to create compelling paintings through a series of simple exercises that build on one another. And you'll take home one or two small paintings of your own.
Students may paint in oil, acrylic, pastel, or water color. Demonstrations will be done in several media depending on class make-up.
