Plein Air Painting in Maine - July 2022
Have you been wondering what it's like to paint outside? Or do you want to take your outdoor painting to the next level? Discover a love for plein air painting with me on the beautiful coast of Maine. The plein air tradition, popularized by the impressionists in France, is a wonderful way to embrace nature and enjoy your creative side out of doors. We'll review basic fundamentals - value, composition, and color, learn how to paint within Mother Nature's time constraints; and pick up tricks of the trade for painting out of doors. This workshop is limited to 4-6 students to give everyone plenty of time to ask questions and for me to do short demos when someone needs advice.
My goal in teaching is one-on-one instruction that you can take home and use on your own work. Beginners and intermediate painters are welcome, and the class is well suited to those who have not painted outside previously. It is not necessary to have specific plein air gear, I'll be happy to go over the gear you already have with you before hand. Mediums include oil, acrylic, and water color.
This class runs from 9AM-4PM July 8th and 9th on Princes Point in Yarmouth, Maine. We'll take a one hour lunch break and discuss painting topics.
