Bringing the Landscape to Life
In this workshop we'll explore the fundamentals of landscape painting from photos;
- how to create a compelling composition from your photo
- how to create distance in your painting and to use the foreground to draw the viewer in
- how to use a value map to lock that composition onto your canvas
- clean color mixing
- how to know when you're done
There will be time for you to develop one or two paintings in the workshop.
This workshop is for beginning and intermediate painters. You may work in any two dimensional medium, the fundamentals are the same and the process is very similar. I will demonstrate in oil, acrylic, pastel, and water color, based on the student's preferences.
And we'll have a special bonus lunchtime discussion on How to Take Great Photos to Paint From, with a check list for you to take home.
This class runs from 9-12 and 1-4 on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Unitarian Church Fellowship Hall in Harvard, MA. The General Store just down the hill is a great place to get lunch.
